There have been many different sets of definitions in regards to what is Islam. What does it really mean? Each definition is very different and has taken words of law from those who have been called so called Islamic scholars here in the West; and since the coming of those from the East there have been more definitions that have come about.
As Moorish American Moslems; we are compelled to go by what the very first person brought. The one who brought us out of darkness into the marvelous light of day; there were others promoting Al-Islam (Arabian) but not one of them came to our people here in the West to promote or propagate the faith of Mohammed. It was Prophet Drew Ali, who was, is and still the only one to actually introduce a translation of the faith of Mohammed here in the West in 1913 A.D. Prophet Noble Drew Ali’s translation is ultimately the best of all of the rest.We have set forth some of the actual teachings on what Islam is and who the Moorish Science Temple of America stands for; from the beginning to its present days existence. Thus, let us unfold the following:
Islam teaches the supreme duty and responsibility of living at peace with one’s surroundings.
Islam is preeminently the religion of Peace. As the name Islam dictates peace.
Islam gets its name from the beginning; even before there was a man to till the soil, or a man from the soil. The great God of the universe created on earth the very first degree of peace on earth in a place called Eden; whereas the Lion and the Lamb could lay down and when morning came neither would be harmed.
God placed a substitute for Himself within that said garden when everything was created in PEACE and being at PEACE with everything therein and thereof and since that time the Holy City are only symbolic representation of that place in which the very first physical man came into.
The goal of man’s life, according to Islam, is peace with everything. Peace with Allah and with man.
Islam teaches that man is born with the unlimited capacities for progress of his development. Thus today you are hearing more about development of human excellence by other Islamic leaders. At the same time each of them are attempting to castrate the Holy Prophet Drew Ali. The original teachings of these things are being attacked by the weaker character of certain members within the Divine Moorish movement.
Islam doesn’t support the idea that man was born in sin but rather that the world that man is born in is evil and wicked; but not the man, as evil in most cases amongst the Asiatic is a learned position to take a moral position is his real nature.

How did we as a people allow those we did not treat us right be in charge of teaching us. As Moorish Americans we do not claim to be descendants from slave; for that would be as if to say we have no history other then what the European slave holders give us. How did we go from building great pyramids which are monuments to Allah to now being depicted in American History books and television as folk’s half naked living in grass huts living off berry and nuts. Our Forefathers and Fore mothers give life and productively to civilization; why are we not teaching our children about the illustrious history of the great Moorish Empires. In earlier History books the Moors are described as being pitch as black; of African decent "Black-a-Moor". Now we see in today's History book the Moors ethnicity has changed to being now of Berber Arab decent; we are being erased from all true accounts of History.

Islamism actually has no real date. The Great God Allah created Islam on this earth land long before the very first man was formed in flesh. Anyone who claims to be a Moorish American must be able to trace them self through the lineage of their present National Grand Sheik and Temple. Presently we have placed before you a list of the legal legitimate recognized Moorish Science Temple of America along with a very brief historical overview.
Bro. Kirkman Bey was the janitor of the Temple during the time of Prophet Drew Ali he was asked by Prophet Drew Ali to be his interpreter for the Sixth Annul Pan American Conference on Private International Law in Cuba; as he was then given the title to the effect of “Language Secretary”. Bro. Kirkman Bey was never made a Sheik or given any official position by Prophet Drew Ali; he however was made an Adept due to him being place within the affairs of the Prophet due to his visit in Cuba. Bro. Kirkman Bey after a few years after the death of Prophet Drew Ali created his on branch of The Moorish Science Temple of America, Inc. back in 1934 which came under a different set of rules and regulations separate from what Prophet Drew Ali already had previously established; presently the National leader of this branch in Bro. R. Jones- Bey who is headquartered in Washington D.C. They were consider having the largest groups of Moors; as over the years due to great division and unmoral acts within their body many have resigned their membership which as cause the group it’s continue decline.
Bro. John Givens El was the Prophet Drew Ali chauffeur; Bro. John Givens El spent much time with the Prophet on long drive across the country as the Prophet did travel regularly in establishing and checking up of Temple across the country. Bro. John Givens El was never made a Sheik he however was made an Adept by Prophet Drew Ali. After the death of Prophet Drew Ali; Bro. John Givens El in later years would then establish his form of The Moorish Science Temple of America. Inc; this was done in 1934; as he would also take on the name Bro. Prophet Drew Ali as he considered himself to be the reincarnation of Prophet Drew Ali; which his temples would later be referred as the Reincarnated Temple. We give much credit to Bro. John Givens El as he kept to the pure teachings of Islam and under his leadership there was many Moorish Business established such as Moorish cafeteria, Moorish schools, Moorish grocery stores, Moorish shoe shops and many other Moorish business his Moorish community was a tight nit group. Over the years many splits came about within this group of Moors. Presently its membership consist of a hand few of elderly Moorish Americans who keep much to themselves none of the original business remained as the generations who proceeded afterwards did not keep to the format as many left the temples wanting to be worldly; the Present National head of the Reincarnated Moorish Science Temples are Bro. Willie Bey headquarters 3810 Wabash Ave, Chicago Ill and Bro. Ronald Bey located in Atlanta GA.
Dr .Rufus German Bey who was made an Adept by Prophet Drew Ali he was never made a Sheik; Dr. R. German Bey held no official office appointed by Prophet Drew Ali. There is very little history concerning Bro. R. German Bey; however presently Bro. Clifford Jackson- Bey who is recognized as a National head of The Moorish Science Temple of America, Inc. is presently headquartered in Gray Indiana its membership is very small as some would say contesting of a mere handful.
Bro. Edward Mealy El was appointed directly by Prophet Drew Ali as the first Supreme Grand Sheik within The Moorish Science Temple of America. Bro. Edward Mealy El is found within many pictures with Prophet Drew Ali; he was know in holding fast to the rules, regulations and laws laid down by the Prophet. After the death of Prophet Drew Ali Bro. Edward Mealy El was under great pressure from the members mainly those who wanted to follow Bro. Kirkman Bey; it went as far as Bro. Kirkman taking E. Mealy El to court in the attempts of suing him; in wanting to take complete charge over the movement. Bro. Edward Mealy El was the victor in the suite; but would succumb to the pressure by those who sought to go their way insisted of the Prophet way; which later resulted in him having a stroke. Unable to care for himself his wife sent him down south to live with his family as she did not wish to be burden by her husband illness. The Moorish Science Temple of America under the rightful leadership of Supreme Grand Sheik Edward Mealy El would become dormant for many years; it wasn’t until the late 70’s early 80’s that the original The Moorish Science Temple of America would then show signs of life.
Many events occurred in the reestablishment's which we will fast forward to present day; as Braswell Bey is recognized as The Moorish Science Temple of America Supreme Grand Council (De`Facto); they changed from the status in which Prophet Drew Ali place the Temple and followed suite with the rest that was out of law in placing The Moorish Science Temple under the status of Inc. (Incorporated / 501c3); as he willfully contribute in the removal of Prophet Drew Ali Supreme Grand Body of The Moorish Science Temple of America; as Braswell Bey plot was to become a dictator over the entire movement; the Supreme Grand Body was in his way of his insidious plot; as such he had to remove it.Though it was done illegally he is responsible for separating himself from the Prophet and the Supreme Grand Body. Braswell Bey is recognized as the National heads of his group of Moors; however he is consider (De`Facto) out of Law; he is Headquartered in Chicago Ill

The Establishment of Bogus, Fake, Bootleg Temples, Groups of Moors.
Charles Mosley Bey also known as C. M Bey was put out of the Temple by Prophet Drew Ali; it was said that during a meeting Prophet was hearing the members within the Temple speak on things that was not taught nor accepted by him. He abruptly stop the meeting and asked “who in here believes what this man is teaching?”; as the man the Prophet was referring to was C. M. Bey. It was said the C. M Bey was teaching the Zodiac and Masonry among other things that was not accepted by The Prophet; the Prophet in a mighty voice said to those who raised their hands when he asked the question; “I should kill you ALL!!”. Prophet Drew Ali was furious of this madness being brought into the Temple; he then said anyone who believes this man can leave with him. Charles Mosley Bey was kicked out of The Moorish Science Temple of America by Prophet Drew Ali; C. M. Bey was never made and Adept; he never held any official position in the Temple other then “Member”. After he was kicked out of The Moorish Science Temple of America he would later form his own band of foolishness call the Moorish Culture Club; which would later give birth to the many bootleg groups you presently see today such as the Great Seal Clock of Destiny, The Moorish National Affairs, The Muurs, Those we teach the UCC, Straw man, Right to Road Travel, and anything else that deal with the European Christian Knight Order of East and West.

Dr .Rufus German Bey who was made an Adept by Prophet Drew Ali he was never made a Sheik; Dr. R. German Bey held no official office appointed by Prophet Drew Ali. There is very little history concerning Bro. R. German Bey; however presently Bro. Clifford Jackson- Bey who is recognized as a National head of The Moorish Science Temple of America, Inc. is presently headquartered in Gray Indiana its membership is very small as some would say contesting of a mere handful.
Bro. Edward Mealy El was appointed directly by Prophet Drew Ali as the first Supreme Grand Sheik within The Moorish Science Temple of America. Bro. Edward Mealy El is found within many pictures with Prophet Drew Ali; he was know in holding fast to the rules, regulations and laws laid down by the Prophet. After the death of Prophet Drew Ali Bro. Edward Mealy El was under great pressure from the members mainly those who wanted to follow Bro. Kirkman Bey; it went as far as Bro. Kirkman taking E. Mealy El to court in the attempts of suing him; in wanting to take complete charge over the movement. Bro. Edward Mealy El was the victor in the suite; but would succumb to the pressure by those who sought to go their way insisted of the Prophet way; which later resulted in him having a stroke. Unable to care for himself his wife sent him down south to live with his family as she did not wish to be burden by her husband illness. The Moorish Science Temple of America under the rightful leadership of Supreme Grand Sheik Edward Mealy El would become dormant for many years; it wasn’t until the late 70’s early 80’s that the original The Moorish Science Temple of America would then show signs of life.
Many events occurred in the reestablishment's which we will fast forward to present day; as Braswell Bey is recognized as The Moorish Science Temple of America Supreme Grand Council (De`Facto); they changed from the status in which Prophet Drew Ali place the Temple and followed suite with the rest that was out of law in placing The Moorish Science Temple under the status of Inc. Charles Mosley Bey also known as C. M Bey was put out of the Temple by Prophet Drew Ali; it was said that during a meeting Prophet was hearing the members within the Temple speak on things that was not taught nor accepted by him. Bey was never made and Adept; he never held any official position in the Temple other then “Member”. Did You Know…
That the NAACP was started by a Jewish organization; the NAACP cannot be involved in any “Black” Nationalistic Movements i.e. The Nation of Islam, The Black Hebrew Israelites or The Moorish Science Temple of America. Jewish Dominance and Exploitation of the Black Civil Rights Movement
W.E.B. Du Bois gave tepid support to Garvey's ideas for black independence and to the idea of Garvey's Black Star Line. However, by 1920 Du Bois had become deeply suspicious of Garvey's methods, ideas, and motives, and published his own damning expose of Black Star Line finances in The Crisis. The animosity between the two men became personal and venomous. W.E.B. Du Bois called Garvey the most dangerous enemy of the Negro race -- either "a lunatic or a traitor." He said Garvey "suffered from serious defects of temperament and training" and described him as “a little, fat, black man, ugly...with a big head." Garvey countered by calling Du Bois the Negro "misleader" and said Du Bois was "a little Dutch, a little French, and a little Negro...a mulatto. Why in fact," Garvey wrote, "he is a monstrosity." Jean Baptiste Pointe Du Sable (1745-1818)
Du Sable was born on the Island of Haiti. His Father was a French Sea Captain and his mother an ex-slave. Du Sable was educated in France before settling in America with his Native American bride, Catherine. Du Sable went on to be a successful pioneer and entrepreneur establishing the first permanent trading post on the Chicago River in 1779. He was officially recognized in 1968 by the State of Illinois for having been the Founder of Chicago.
White Race Riots between 1824 and 1951 there were over 300 events classified as “White Race Riots” in which entire white communities turned on and destroyed entire Black communities and murdered Blacks in mass. There were 26 such major events and hundreds of smaller ones in major cities and towns across the US during the summer of 1919 alone. This period has been tagged by historians as “The Red Summer of 1919”, because many of the events happened from May to October of that year and the blood of their victims literally painted the streets of America.
